The hip openers respond well when extra time is taken to ease into the resistance of tight tissue. The hip openers also help to release tightness and tension across the lower back and in the legs which can bring about a sense of ease of movement in our day to day lives. We will work through a sequence of hip openers (mostly lying down and seated) that encourage a deep opening of the hips and surrounding tissue. On an emotional level the hips are often considered to 'hold' and therefore working deeply into the hips can bring about a release not just physically but also emotionally creating a sense of spaciousness.
